The HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation and Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago have successfully realized another important humanitarian project, the renovation of The Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj Home for Children in Belgrade, Serbia.
This Home is part of the “Zvecanska” Center for the Protection of Infants, Children, and young people and it helps children without parental care and with developmental disabilities.
These renovations, which included the building and installation of a wheelchair ramp and the renovation the staircase and replacement of all staircase tiles in the courtyard of this institution, were made possible by an incredibly generous donation from The Three Kolo Group – The Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. George of Joliet, Illinois, The Circle of Serbian Sisters Kneginja Zorka of Lansing, Illinois, and The Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. Archangel Michael of Lansing, Illinois.
“I am very grateful to our dear friends who participated and tremendously helped this project and thus enabled the children to have better conditions in this Home. I am so touched and thankful to you for so generously supporting our joint vision and dedication to providing for children and making their childhood better and as carefree as possible. I am very happy to see that we are united in the idea that such projects are being realized and that we can help children who need help.
The history of the humanitarian cooperation of my Foundation and the Center for the Protection of Infants, Children, and Youth Zvecanska and its departments is long and filled with care and love for our children. Children are the future of our country, and that future is beautiful and bright. We will continue doing everything we can to give them a better childhood“, said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
Mr. Janko Tabakovic, Director of the “Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj” Home for Children expressed his gratitude to HRH Crown Princess Katherine, Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, and The Three Kolo Group: “Thank you very much for your generosity and support of our Home. This year with your donation we renovated the stairs and driveway in the front yard, and we restored the road and wheelchair ramp in the front yard. That means a lot to us and makes our life in this institution much easier. Employees and children from Home Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj are very grateful to you”.
