The British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (BSCC), the Canadian Serbian Business Association (CANSEE) and the Dutch-Serbian Business Association (DSBA) organised on Friday, 8 Decemebr, for the second time, a charity event called “Christmas carols and reception” to support traditional Christmas receptions for children in need that Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine will host at the White Palace on 5 January 2024.
Their Royal Highnesses every year traditionally welcome and bring joy to over one thousand orphans, children with special needs, and socially vulnerable children at these holiday receptions, and it is a tradition they have started immediately after their return to Serbia in 2001.
The evening started with a musical program, where people greatly enjoyed the performances of several individual performers and choirs. The formal reception began after the beautiful Christmas carols performance, followed by charity raffle prize draw at the end of the evening. The event was supported by HE Mr. Edward Ferguson, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Mrs. Brankica Jankovic, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, and other distinguished guests.
Due to obligations abroad, Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine could not attend the event, but Her Royal Highness’s letter was read by Mrs. Jadranka Dervišević Kitarić, UK Executive Director of the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
“We would like you all to know how grateful and touched we both are by your willingness and determination to help our efforts to provide aid to those who are in need. It is especially important in these festive days. My husband and I every year traditionally welcome and bring joy to over one thousand orphans, children with difficulties in intellectual development, and socially vulnerable children during traditional holiday receptions which we are holding for them. It is something we have been doing since our return to Serbia, 22 years ago, and we will continue it, at the White Palace on 5 January 2024.
A sincere smile on the face of a child you have helped is the biggest and most valuable prize in the world. The most precious gift those who are in need can receive is the knowledge that they have not been forgotten and that they are loved. Thank you very much for your willingness and determination to support a good and noble cause of providing to others”, stated Crown Princess Katherine in her letter.
Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine are very grateful to The British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Serbian Business Association. and the Dutch-Serbian Business Association for organising the event, as well as to all the companies who supported this charity.
