Christmas Charity Women Refugees Handicrafts Bazaar under Crown Princess Katherine’s auspices

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, together with Serbian Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Vladimir Cucic, opened the traditional Christmas Bazaar in the “Stadion” shopping mall (Zaplanjska 32, Vozdovac), Belgrade.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation has been organizing the Christmas Charity Bazaar for many years with a desire to help the displaced persons, refugees and socially vulnerable people who support their families by selling the most beautiful handicrafts. Special joy was brought this year to the Bazaar by the young exhibitors from the children with developmental disabilities day-care centres, who have also exhibited their remarkable handicrafts. This year’s bazaar is participated by 45 women from all over Serbia. The opening was also attended by Mrs Savka Gojkovic, mother of the Speaker of the Parliament, members of diplomatic corps and many other distinguished guests.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine pointed out in her speech: “All the proceeds are intended for these brave women and their families. Please invite your friends to visit this remarkable event”.

On behalf of the Government of Serbia, the gathering was addressed by Mr. Vladimir Cucic, the Commissioner for Refugees, who thanked the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine and all those who have contributed to the success of the Charity Bazaar.

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, together with Mr. Vladimir Cucic, cut the red ribbon and thus officially opened the Bazaar.

The Christmas Bazaar will be open to the public every day from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm until Sunday, December 13.

Crown Princess Katherine Foundation expressed their gratitude to management and staff of “Stadion” shopping mall for their hospitality, “Coffee & Love” café for food and beverages and National Folklore ensemble “Gradimir”.
