Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Peter visited Paracin today and delivered humanitarian aid to flood victims of in this city and also to beneficiaries sheltered at Monastery St. Petka in Izvor, near Paracin, where nuns take care of children with mental disorders.
Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by Mr Sasa Paunovic, Mayor of Paracin, who informed them about scale of disaster that this city suffered from the floods. Their Royal Highnesses brought with them water, canned food, diapers, clothes that were delivered to Emergency Committee. After that, accompanied by Mayor Paunovic, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Peter went through the city and spoke with people affected by floods. They personally brought help to several families most affected by the natural disaster.
Their Royal Highnesses then went to Monastery of St. Petka in Izvor, 20 km from Paracin. They were welcomed by Mother Glikerija, head of the Monastery, nuns and several beneficiaries. Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Peter brought humanitarian help collected by Lifeline New York Humanitarian organization and wheelchairs sent by Lifeline Chicago Humanitarian organization, both organization working under auspices of HRH Crown Princess Katherine and helping people of Serbia for many years. Serbian Orthodox Monastery of St. Petka in Izvor was built in 16th century, and has been sheltering people and children who suffer from mental illnesses. Their Royal Highnesses visited this Monastery on several occasions in the past, and were helping it frequently.
