CROWN PRINCESS AND LIFELINE GREECE DELIVER NEW NEONATAL DEPARTMENT FOR ATHENS HOSPITAL

HRH Crown Princess Katherine and the Board of Directors of the international humanitarian organization Lifeline Greece attended the opening of the extension of the department of the Neonatal Unit of “Elena Venizelou” hospital, which was provided by Lifeline Greece thanks to the generous donation of Ms. Alexia Stella Mantzari and her company A.S. Marine.

Six additional incubator places were created, and the newborns will no longer need to be transferred to another hospital. Also, Mr. Dimitris and Mrs. Eleni Bousis offered an incubator in order to support the operation of the new department.

As the Government of Greece traditionally recognizes the importance of HRH Crown Princess Katherine and Lifeline Greece’s work, the opening was honoured by the presence of the Minister of Health of Greece, HE Mr. Thanasis Plevris, as well as the donor Ms. Alexia Stella Mantzaris, the Deputy Commander of Elena Venizelou Mrs. Eva Kontostathakou, the donors Mr. Dimitris and Mrs. Eleni Bousis, the Director of the Neonatal Unit, Dr. Iraklis Salvanos, the President of Lifeline Hellas Dr. Zisis Boukouvalas, together with other members of the Lifeline Greece Board.

“I am very grateful to our generous donors, Ms. Alexia Stella Mantzari, Mr. Dimitris and Mrs. Eleni Bousis, their families, and the Board of Directors of Lifeline Greece for their determination and willingness to provide help and support to those who need it the most – our new-born babies. I am very proud of all of you for making it possible that this important project of Lifeline Greece is now realized, and that many lives will be saved, thanks to your efforts.

I will continue providing support to the “Elena Venizelou” Hospital because we all very well know how important and precious their work is. We will soon visit the hospital again to deliver the rest of the incubators and monitors with the donors, so we can continue our support for the new department”, said HRH Crown Prince Katherine.
