Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine addressed at the opening of the 16th Festival of the Elderly “Golden Age”, organized under the slogan “Let the Magic of Creation Begin!” at the National Museum in Belgrade.
“I am glad that this festival has a tradition and has been successfully organized for the past sixteen years. I am happy to see that you maintain your creativity and develop it over the years through music, writing and painting. Since the establishment of my Foundation we have tried to dedicate part of our activities to the elderly. We wish to tell you that you have not forgotten that your wisdom and life experience should be a guideline for young people. My husband, Crown Prince Alexander and I will always try to help all the gerontology centres in Serbia and make life more beautiful and more joyful for the elderly. I wish you to be happy for a long time, and we will also meet next year at another festival”, said Crown Princess Katherine.
The participants were also greeted by Mrs. Suzana Misic, Director of the Gerontology Center in Belgrade, Mrs. Bojana Boric Breskovic, Director of the National Museum, HE Mr. Zoran Djordjevic, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans’ and Social Affairs and Mr. Andreja Mladenovic, Assistant to the Mayor of Belgrade. On this occasion, the awards were delivered for poetic creativity (“Golden Verse”), for lifetime achievement (“Golden Age”), for humane journalism (“Golden Word”), as well as “Iskorak”, for the courage shown in pushing the boundaries of stereotypes.
