Crown Princess Katherine humanitarian donation to Special Hospital for Psychiatric Diseases in Kovin

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine visited today Special Hospital for Psychiatric Diseases in Kovin and delivered humanitarian donation worth 60,000 USD, provided thanks to extraordinary cooperation between Lifeline Chicago Humanitarian Organization that works under auspices of Crown Princess Katherine andThe John and Mildred Medic Wuchenich Foundation.

The aid consists of 400 mattresses, 400 sets of bed linen, 40 beds. Kovin Psychiatric Hospital was the grateful recipient of a hugely generous donationfrom The John and Mildred Medic Wuchenich Foundation and Lifeline Chicago Humanitarian Organization.

Director of the hospital Dr Zeljko Rodic expressed special thanks to Her Royal Highness and the John and Mildred Medic Wuchenich Foundation, saying  “We are happy that you have recognized a category of patients from whom all turn their heads and for whom treatments are considered the least important in our health system.” He went on to say that The Foundation’s gift did far more than simply provide a nice place to sleep. “You returned (our patient’s) faith in life, put a smile on their faces and offered a glimmer of hope.”

Crown Princess Katherine and the Director both agree that the humane gesture by the directors of The John and Mildred Medic Wuchenich Foundation distinguishes them as great and honest people. The hospital is the thankful beneficiary of their compassion and charity.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine said she was very happy that she manages for the last two decades, thanks to her friends abroad, to provide continuous aid to health institutions all around Serbia, and that she will, together with her husband, Crown Prince Alexander and their friends abroad, continue to do so in the future.

Princess Katherine Foundation has so far helped Special Hospital for Psychiatric Diseases in Kovin with wheelchairs, bed linen, clothes for patients, hygienic items, and greenhouse for this institution.
