Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine officially opened this year’s Easter Bazaar of women refugees and children with special needs.
The opening of the bazaar in the “Stadium” shopping center was attended by Mr Nenad Ivanisevic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Mrs. Beatrice Grozdanic, special advisor for humanitarian issues at the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Mr. Vladimir Cucic, Commissioner for refugees and migrants of the Republic of Serbia, representatives of the diplomatic corps as well as numerous guests from cultural and public life of Serbia.
“It is a pleasure to welcome you to the traditional Easter Bazaar and to thank the Management of the “Stadium” shopping center who enabled us to organize the Bazaar in this beautiful area. You can see and enjoy the beautiful handicrafts made by these creative women and their associations. These ladies were forced to leave the safety of their homes and create an alternative life somewhere else, and this year we have the children from two orphanages, from Pancevo and Veternik. Producing handicrafts, these women support their families in the most difficult times, and all proceeds from the bazaar will be used to support these women and their associations. Please tell your friends and relatives about the Easter Bazaar and invite them to come and see the handicrafts. I am very happy that children with special needs also exhibit their works here. I wish everyone much success and thank you for your great support. Christ is risen, Happy Easter!” said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
The Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine has organized the charity Easter bazaar for many years, with the aim to help the displaced, refugees and socially vulnerable persons. Over 40 women from all over Serbia exhibit at this year’s bazaar, as well as homes for children with special needs from Pancevo and Veternik, and all the proceeds from the sale is intended to help these vulnerable groups.
The Bazaar will be open on Thursday April 6th from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, as well as Friday 7th April and Saturday 8th April from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, at “Stadium” shopping center, Zaplanjska 32 Street, Belgrade, Serbia.
